At the end of 2017, I made the decision to quit my job and undertake a few adventures that I’d been dreaming about for months and years. You can read more about that decision here.
Although I’ve traveled quite a bit over the past couple of years, I wanted to pursue something different, to experience something different. I wanted to complete some travel which was largely man powered, something which tested my limits and something which took me to the places in-between, the places most people miss. And I wanted to do it all as cheaply as possible – allowing me to extend my adventures for months, instead of weeks.
While this section of the blog will be a constant work in progress, please click on the pictures below to read about the adventures I’ve completed or the one’s I’m currently undertaking. Hopefully my journeys will inspire you to undertake your own.
Small Islands, Big Walk is an adventure aiming to walk over 650 kilometers across all 7 canary islands, followed by around 350 kilometers across (or around) the Balearic Islands of Menorca and Majorca.
A microadventure is an adventure which is short, cheap and local to your current location. With many people living in cities, often stuck unhappily working 9-5 jobs, they offer realistic escapes back to wilderness and simple opportunities to find serenity in the great outdoors.
